2006 Inductee Dr. William S. (Bill) Phillips

Dr. Phillips had a distinguished career at Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis, and he created his own insurance agency in Memphis, the Phillips Fire and Casualty Agency, and operated it for almost five decades.

Dr. Phillips received the Bachelor of Science in Bus. Admin. degree from Washington University, St. Louis, in 1948; the M.B.A. degree from the University of Memphis in 1965; and the Ph.D. degree in Finance from California Coast University in 1988.
