2019 Inductee Mary Frances Miller

Mary Frances Miller is a founder and senior consulting actuary at Select Actuarial Services in Nashville, Tennessee. Miller has been an active contributor to the actuarial profession since achieving her Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society in 1988. Among the many accomplishments in her 30-year career, she has served as president of both the Casualty Actuarial Society and the American Academy of Actuaries and served on the Board of Directors of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Captive Insurance Association.

Miller’s international work on behalf of the actuarial profession includes a six-year term as chair of the International Actuarial Association’s (IAA) Education Committee, and volunteer service with Actuaries Without Borders, a section of the IAA that provides training for actuaries and actuarial technicians in countries where the profession is still developing. In addition to being a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, Miller is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) in 2005.
